Poem

Fruit Bowl

The Welsh cwtch, others munch.  Whatever the language, who can resist a cuddle with this nine-month-old baby curled up in her car seat:

I am a hungry caterpillar, waiting for my lunch,
I saw some wriggly, wiggly toes that I could really munch.
I saw today delicious smiles I just can’t wait to eat.
I saw some little swinging legs and scrumptious little feet.

I saw some strawberries, ripe and red on top of tiny head,
I like them sweet, and just like that, I might munch those instead.
I saw two chubby little arms, bananas ripe to eat
I saw a face as soft as down, just like the ripest peach.

I saw a little child today who won my heart, for sure.
I wish her well in her new world; please keep her spirit pure.
I wish her all that she would wish, to grow in peace and health.
I wish her love and happiness with which to measure wealth.
