Poem

I’m the Queen of the Castle

· Celebrations, Misc, Rites of Passage

You know who you are!  I’m over it now, thanks to the passage of time and the power of poetry.

Do you remember the girl with blonde hair,
Who always sat in that space?
Her mother wore lipstick, her hair was too fair,
She spread shades of rouge on her face.

Do you remember the girl in that space,
And the desk she controlled with her will?
She dared you to move her with a ‘dare you to’  face,
And her arms folded, perfectly still.

Do you remember the girl with the power
To will others to do as she bid?
She would get them to shove you into the shower,
And they watched as you ran out and hid.

Do you remember the girl who could make
Your best friends ignore you all day
Her power was such that your young heart would ache
When no-one would ask you to play.

Do you remember the girl with blonde hair,
And her mother who painted her face?
On the day she left school then life was more fair,
As I slid myself into her place.
