The Game of Life

· Birthdays, Celebrations, Family, Health, Love

Written after having read an article in the Nursing Times.

The tadpole and the jelly spawn
Were placed inside a tube.
The jelly spawn had letters drawn
That let the tadpole through.

Then messages were passed between
The tadpole and the jelly.
And soon a swelling could be seen
Inside the woman’s belly.

In Chinese Whispers words get swapped
And sometimes they get changed.
At other times they may get dropped
Or could be rearranged.

And so it is with Jelly-Pole,
That when such things go wrong,
Swap ‘C’ for ‘T’ in the control
And trick words come along.

When Abraham begat a son
Make Shuah that you know
The order that each son did come
So that the game may flow.

If replication fails to pair
One letter with its other,
Then be assured we’ll be right there
When the word we make is ‘Mother’.

Whatever words or letters form
When you first see your child,
There is no whisper can deform
That first, most blessed smile.
